Field service booking flow checklist
Use this before publishing or changing an online booking flow for mobile, home visit, or field service work.
1. Entry point
- The booking button tells customers what happens next.
- The service menu uses customer language, not internal labels.
- The flow works on mobile without tiny fields or hidden policy text.
2. Location and service fit
- Postcode or address is collected before unsuitable slots are promised.
- Access, parking, photos, and job size are requested only when they affect the visit.
- Edge areas can use request first instead of false instant booking.
3. Confirmation and reminders
- The confirmation repeats the time or window, address cue, service, and next action.
- Reminder timing is set before the visit, not copied manually on the day.
- Customers know how to fix a mistake, reschedule, or send missing details.
4. Working record
- The booking creates or updates the client record.
- Job notes stay attached to the appointment.
- Payment status, invoice follow up, and mileage context can be checked after the visit.
