Home visit reminder timing checklist
Use this to decide when each reminder should go out and what it should ask the client to do.
Default cadence
- Confirmation immediately after booking.
- 48 hours before when preparation, access, deposit, or cancellation risk matters.
- 24 hours before as the main reminder.
- Same day reminder for access, readiness, and contact availability.
Ask earlier when
- The client must prepare the home or workspace.
- Parking, pets, access, or paperwork could block the visit.
- The appointment is long, high value, or hard to refill.
Keep same day short
- Time or arrival window.
- Service name.
- Access cue or phone route.
- Simple reply path.
Before switching reminders on
- Check that the booking form captures the address and access details reminders need.
- Separate operational reminders from promotional messages.
- Make cancellation or rescheduling easy enough for the customer to act early.
- Review no shows and late cancellations monthly, then adjust timing by service type.
